Garlic Cheese Sausage Balls

Imagine taking an overused, very old appetizer recipe and by changing one ingredient turning it into a new, fresh, exciting appetizer ….. well, that’s exactly what Lisa did at her blog, The Cutting Edge of Ordinary!

Lisa simply substituted Bisquick’s Cheese and Garlic Biscuit mix for Bisquick’s traditional biscuit mix that we’ve all been using for years. In addition to coming up with the ideal appetizer, she may have created the perfect breakfast for someone on the go. Think about it … each serving provides some bread, sausage, cheese and egg … what more could you ask for!

Note

Just before preparing this recipe, let the sausage sit out for a half hour to come to room temperature.  This makes it easier to mix and handle.

When the sausage balls come out of the oven I try to gently move them over to a double layer of paper towels to drain for several minutes.

Serve with the dipping sauce of your choice.  Personally, I prefer honey mustard.
